2-25-11~ Remember to check out the Iditarod Teachers section. There are many free videos and educational ideas! Because IDEA participated in the Iditarod Educators Conference last year, Exxon Mobile has paid for the Insider for this coming year!  Passwords are in the member section of the IDEA website!

2-25-11 ~You'll be on the trail (the reading trail) and we'd like to hear stories from your race!  Check out some cool graphic organizers by clicking on Houghton Mifflin and Scholastic website information. We hope the organizers will help you in your reporting!

2-25-11 ~ Click the following link for an explanation of mushing terms!  http://www.iditarod.com/learn/terminology.html

2-25-11 ~  Don't know much about the Iditarod?  Go to www.iditarod.com; Click on Insider and use the password (sent recently to your IDEA email address)!  Look for the blue box on the right. Click Educational Materials; then, in the larger window (to the left) click the VIEW button for Images from the Iditarod Trail, Part 1  to view a PDF document!   Note: If you are already logged in to the Insider, the document title is a link and it will take you directly to the PDF.

3-04-11 ~ Would you like some great games and activities to add to the Iditarod event/theme?   Follow these links:

3-07-11 ~  A great compilation of math lessons using the Iditarod - one early elementary, two middle school and one high school lesson.  In the back is a super map of the Iditarod Southern Trail! Click this link to go to the Iditarod Education website; then, click Teaching Tool by Kim Slade (at the end of the first paragraph).

3-08-11 ~ Zuma's Paw Prints offers lessons from three different Dogs (at different age group levels). Read Gypsy's blog on 3/8/11 and her explanation of military time. Then check out this worksheet!

3-10-11 ~ A parent in Fairbanks thought finding this Grammar Lesson on Insider's Educational materials website was like finding a gold mind!
